poor guy. he was off key but you gotta respect him for trying. you can't exactly expect a Big Band singer to try and sing a Latin song

His crooner-type, smooth voice just isn't suited to Latin music which needs vibrancy.

this is exactly why it was the smartest move ever to get rid of genre themes. making crooners sing latin or disco was just bizarre and unnecessary. and in real life, no one does that. no serious recording artist sings more than 5 genres.

It's not hard to see why John was sent packing the next night, but I can't help thinking that would not likely have been the outcome if he'd been on today, what with all those preteen girls. This past season, for instance, I can't believe Tim Urban outlasted Katie Stevens!
