In the hours after 9/11, I walked from Midtown down toward ground zero - as far as I could go. I had my camcorder with me and this is the video of that afternoon. This is Part 1. Part 2 (coming soon) gets closer to ground zero and has video of WTC Bldg #7 burning prior to its collapse. In this video you'll see video of MSNBC's Dan Abrams on the street as I get closer to ground zero.

  • this is not on 9/11 but probbably a few days later. 1 because theres no dust on anything (dont say it was too far away because the smoke covered all of manhattan) and 2 there are alot of people in the street acting like nothing happened! most people evacuated the city! but still nice video

  • @nuclearfallout217 - it was indeed on the afternoon of 9/11. The smoke did not cover all of Manhattan - but first blew to the south east. There was a lot of dust in the lower Manhattan area - but I did not video tape it.

  • I was standing practically right next to one of the towers when the first plane flew in and I ran for my life, dropped everything and flung off my jacket. God, it was scary that day. R.I.P those who died.

  • Rebuild the Twin Towers to show america was not defeated

  • @nuclearfallout217 the beginning of this video was shot at 50th Street & 8th Avenue, one block from my apartment. There was never any dust on anything up this far that day, except for what was on the people who trudged up 9th Avenue on foot from ground zero, as emergency vehicles of every description and from every nearby state drove past them toward the destruction in lower Manhattan. The wind changed the next day and brought the burning smell up to my neighborhood, but no noticeable dust.

  • @takahashiwongwong they're gonna build a mosque and the president is apologizing to everyone he can for big bad america. We were defeated and the weaklings among us let it happen.

  • This is really interesting, there aren't a lot of clips with footage taken later in the day.

    You were ok, I hope?

  • yea i remember walking home from school 100 blocks that day and hearing the military jets. i was still kinda young didnt really understand the magnitude of the event until i got home and got to see it on tv. they didnt let us see it on tv at school. but there were military aircraft flyin around at 3pm when i got out of school why couldnt they have been around earlier? sad day but proud to be a new yorker. RIP to the victims on 9/11 you're at peace now, still think about you all the time.

  • @takahashiwongwong -yes well said. they will stand again.

  • after the twin towers collapsed, did you hear some strange loud noises?
