Sometimes it's very scary here.
Audio only, this is a fantastic VDGG band version of the PH song "A Louse Is Not a Home", from the 'unofficial' live album 'London Imperial College - 14 October 1975'. This was originally from the PH 1974 solo album "The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage". At the end of this song at the concert (and on the CD) the band went straight into the song "Urban", and I have edited this out, although you can still hear it starting up at the end of this edit.

I got a message from YouTube recently advising me that my account is now enabled for uploads of longer than 15 minutes, which is very welcome - thank you YT. This means that I can upload this in a single video, instead of some of my earlier efforts where I had to split videos that were longer than the previous 10 minute limit down into two separate videos.

I compiled the video montage myself utilising footage mostly downloaded from YouTube (thank you, YouTube), with some of my own added effects and filters.

  • I love this version - it's awesome.

  • I have been to the London Imperial College, to see the Edgar Broughton Band in July 1972. At the time they were my favourite band.

  • @professoricon:

I saw the Edgar Broughton Band many times in the seventies, and saw them again on their reunion tour in 2006 at the Robin 2 in Wolverhampton (15th March 2006). I saw them for the first time in 1971 at the Weeley festival, where VDGG also played.

  • Such a good version ! Does anyone know if it's possible to get this performance on HQ DVD?

  • i LOVE THIS SONG.... :)

  • @Chentinno:

It is a shame, but I had to post this because it is such a rarity.

It is also such a gritty, virtually dirty version, and the audio quality almost adds to its grittiness.

I love this version - PLAY LOUD.

  • The sound is poor of course BUT The spirit is there also the power and THe VOICE ...no wonder he never played it after that tour...these days he plays In the black room which is in the same spirit but A louse is far more difficult to do alone....The ending being the Challenge....Plus how to recreate the power of the maelstrom of this song solo? It's for me the summum of his early recordings with Red Shift,BR and Forsaken Garden...not forgetting Modern !

  • The audio quality is a shame !!!
