Taken from a tape of Frankie Knuckles playing live at Sound Factory on the morning of August 4, 1991. Tape was mailed to me as a birthday present by a friend in NYC when I was still living in London- best present I ever got! Full recordings are here:
http://www.scientitian.com/mixtapes.html

Used tape hiss removal which has introduced some artifacts on the vocals. Only other person I ever heard playing this version was Larry Levan when he DJ'd at the Ministry of Sound in November 1991. Have no idea if it was ever available in any format.

Frankie Knuckles describes premiering The Pressure at Sound Factory in a tribute to Larry Levan on this website (now gone but preserved in the internet archive):

  • This is The Pressure Pt. 2 from the LP.

When Victor Rosado was playing Ministry with Larry Levan he was working this in to the club mix, it was explosive!

  • @jeremynewall It's very similar but the LP version I've heard is a little different and has some TR 808 sounds on it (it's posted on here). Unless maybe there are different US/UK versions of the LP?

  • UBP classic radio mix?

  • @FBSundayClub the track with that mix name on the Mixmag 1992 compilation CD is mistitled, it's actually the original Frankie Knuckles "Classic 12" Mix With Vocal Intro," very similar to this but the drums kick in around the two minute mark.

  • A true Hands in the air ' Track !! AMEN

  • I think this particular mix of just this track epitomizes and embodies the heart and soul of the Original Sound Factory on West 27th Street in NYC. When this came on you would just let go and the dance floor would just get CRAZZZZY!!! Thank you Frankie and Junior for some of the greatest moments of my life on a dance floor with great people, great energy, every Saturday night for 12 straight hours for about a good 7 years!
