  • You do have a valid point and you should stick to your gun on that. She WAS a role model for the Deaf and she has deflated the puprose of ASL and Deaf culture by speaking and lipreading publicly. She does need to change but she caters to her hearing producers and directors' demands. That's why!

  • Understandable.. =-)

  • Question.. at 0:32 what was that sign..?

Im sorry if i bother you at all.. im a current ASL 2 student at my school and i was just wondering..

  • Haha You re so funny??? MM will never ever change or try to listen other's people advise... TRust me. Never EVER change. DOnt be wasting your time to support her and expect her to change little Bite.. haha. very funny.. let her be pride than proud..

  • i agree with ya, but, pls not said that part thnx. she was born hearing then become deaf.

  • I agree about M.M she need to be very careful or she knew about it. But I wondering if any other producer before making movie need to discuss and anylas more deep to respect any Deaf culture and community before making a good movies or hire someone who knew about Deaf culture very well. It is no excuse. Enough respect to Tar 2006. I agree with you more then 100%.

  • Your other Marlee vlog you talked about hearing world and deaf world being separate, and the only thing to bridge that gap was interpreters...and you want it to stay separate...did I misunderstand your intent?

  • From a hearing point of view: Marlee Matlin is an excellent actress and I'd much rather hear Marlee Matlin's own voice than someone doing a voiceover who can't act at all. I watched "Sweet Nothing In My Ear" and the person doing her voice-over was awful. I wish they had let Marlee Matlin do her own voice-over.

Although, I have many deaf friends and I understand how her talking and lip-reading isn't really representing the Deaf community.

  • Okay, Thanks!! :DD
