Nah, it's not fake or sped up and the sound is real, recorded live onto the camera's mic. I will say that I did a "trick" from the 17 to the 28 seconds mark. I used my middle fingers hitting the bottom of the desktop on the upstroke. Please do record yourself and be sure to hit the desk as hard as you possibly can, or YOU will be the poser. :)

There's no pain to my fingers. I think I overdid it for the camera and damaged my left index finger knuckle though. It must have been over-extended in the wrong direction and feels weird whenever I do nervous tapping now. Haha
