attempting to drift in our newly acquired 1986 325e. It definitely needs some work. The steering is a little weird, and the shocks are so old that the car will almost bottom out on one side when cornering. We took this car apart afterwards and the ball joints/tie rods were completely shot as were the struts. I swear I can really drift :) But doing so in this car is pretty much impossible. Of course thats pretty obvious if you know anything about vehicle dynamics, and weight changes. haha, and that damn steering wheel snap.

  • Drift ???? HAHAHA :-D

  • @HayabusaDrift I know right. Looking back I don't know why I titled it that but I was still in go-fast mode. haha. I was never trying to show off with this video. I was more amused at how fucking bad the steering wheel snap was. My dad drove this car daily and it scared the hell out of me, because the suspension was so out of whack.

  • wait does all this year BMWs over time crack their dashes or what b.c i just bout a BMW exact same as this and it has the same cracks in the dash

  • No, it's just usually if they are left outside in the sun and not taken care of. My car is only two years newer than this, and has a flawless dash after 280k miles. The other thing that can cause it to crack is if things like Armor all are used, because the silicone inside acts like a magnifying glass for the suns rays and heat it up. Just about every car will do this if it's left out in the sun and not taken care of.

  • The E stands for ETA a greek term for econnomy! My 85 5sp was the chit man loved it. 32mpg with the onboard computer readout easy up to 34 if i took it easy. Just great! Still fun

  • @CRDLIBERTY I know it's been two years but I'm bored. haha. They are awesome aren't they? I had an 88 Super ETA that got about 27 with the way I drove, which was amazing. I got about 33 on the freeway because of the low diff ratio. 325i s are more fun (I have one now) but they lack the torque of the ETA and I only get about 23-25 now.. haha I miss my old car.

  • @JustAnotherGay96 Thats awesome. Keep in good shape and you'll get another 100k at least out of it (My last car had 283k when it got hit). You may want to change the timing belt if you haven't and don't know when it was done. Haha I just looked at your profile, Good taste :) We are a toyota family too. Keep up the activism as well. Most of my GLBTQ activist friends would never think of demonstrating the car manufacturer's equality ratings...

  • @rossor6ridr It stands for economy sport aka it has the sport seats, front air dam, rear trunk lid spoiler..

  • @CRDLIBERTY I have a 325 "ES" whats that stand for?

  • nice fail genius

  • who were you with?

  • It all really depends on how the car was treated. My 325e has cracks in the dash because it was left sitting for 8 years.
