Pete Rose belongs in the Hall of Fame..all the records, and everything Mr Rose accomplished on the field was all done 100% legitimate,..unlike todays players who are breaking records left and right illegally, and immorally, and without any merritt or regard for the games legitimacy......Mr Rose has already paid all his dues for what he did, he has done his time, he has paid all his fees and penalty's, and he has had his name dragged through the mudd waaay to long!!....enough already!!..love him or not,... he played the game of baseball the way it is suppose to be played each and everyday he took the field... If every player today played with just HALF!! the effort as Mr Rose did, the games today would be a heck of a lot MORE EXCITING!! to watch and attend....Pete Rose is Baseball!!!!....

What Pete Rose did on the field can't be erased for a simple mistake, he gave his heart in every game he played and whatever he did wrong, he payed it good.

He should be in the Hall of Fame.

How about Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemens for cheaters?

For some reason baseball players take the most heat. Michael Vick killed dogs for entertainment, most NFL and NBA players have been convicted of murder and other crimes far worse than gambling and steroid use.

I never liked Jim Gray- but he makes a good (albeit ill-timed) point. Rose lied and lied for 15 years about what was obvious guilt to most, and I think that has robbed him of any chance at the Hall in his lifetime. Shoeless Joe should get before Rose does, he had credible denials and never made a cent even if he was guilty. I do think they'll both get in someday, though.

Jim Gray is an example of exactly how not to interview sports figures. He always blindsided them and went for the sensational low class questions. The disrespect he shows Pete Rose here is uncalled for. Nobody, no audience wanted this type of relentless questioning on a night like this. Gray way overstepped his opportunity to interview Rose. Gray deserves to be out of sports and Pete deserves to be back in...he's done his time. Enough. Pete Rose was the greatest baseball player ever.
