Arrest made in threats against Santa Fe judge

following some breaking news at this moment. within the last 45 minutes we learned that deputies arrested the man they say threatened to shoot a district court judge today in santa fe. this is a picture of the man arrested--- 22 year old steven anthony martinez. detectives caught him tonight in chimayo.

10:00 pm joe vigil is just back from santa fe with the late breaking details of the arrest. i talked with the county sheriff just 20 minutes ago. detectives found steven martinez hiding in some bushes near his chimayo home on county road 102 in rio arriba county. deputies got a tip that martinez made the threatening calls today. that led to the lockdown of district and federal court and carlos gilbert elementary. around 1:30 someone called 911 and told dispatchers that a man was heading to the district courthouse to shoot a judge. someone then called judge michael vigil's office and told a staff member something like i'm going to kill you. the sheriff says he believes martinez made the calls to get out of a court sentencing he thought was happening today. the sheriff says martinez was being sentenced for possession of narcotics and burglary. however judge michael vigil's court docket did not have martinez on it today so there's confusion about when martinez was being

10:01 pm sentenced. no charges have been filed yet. the shiff says he's relieved that a suspect is in custody and pele can return to work tomorrow feeling a little safer.
