  • hey man i am thinking of getting one of these for my b day I would just like to know is that the firt or secont print and is it the uk or us version =-) cuz they are all very differnt

  • This was the American version published by Houghton Mifflin. I don't know the printing, so can't help you there. It is a beautiful book and has a very nice feel to the cover, though for sentimental reasons I still prefer the old red book.

  • @wmrandth

Does this book come shrinkwrapped when new?

I bought the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition from AMAZON UK (by HarperCollins, not Houghton Miffin) and the books came UNWRAPPED twice, even though they are definitely supposed to be wrapped.

  • @th3warr1or I bought it in the store here in the US, and yes, it was clear wrapped. I only noticed it the backwards printing when I got home and unwrapped it.

  • This is a real tragedy. Will you get a new set?

  • Yep, I returned it and got another correct version from another store that had it. They were pretty good about it, I must say.

  • LOl i really feel for you man....!!

  • Man those publishers fucking suck. You would think that in this day of powerful computers and software, that these fucking idiot publishers would quit printing books filled with errors.

  • hahahaha nice edition upsidedown

  • @wmrandth You should have kept the misprint copy. They are very very rare and worth alot of money. Bad choice. I have the 50th anniversary edition too. Payed $90 dollars a few years ago at barnes and noble.

  • hi i have kind of the same problem with this book.

i bought it a few days ago and got the book.

    first impression: Amazing!

but i found out the edges were not gold! that frustrated me a little because I spent lots of money on it 70 euros -_-.

I also espected a little more from the hardcover quality LOL.
