    Well, the KKK lynched mostly black people. And it wasn't only the KKK who did the lynching. This song, sung by Billie first in New York, gave people up north what things were like.The first time she sang it. There were gasps, and mostly silence. If she had sung it in the south at the time, she would have been Strange Fruit as well.
