The imagery is beautiful, black and white, with those long shadows, that heavy atmosphere with sharp contrasts between black and white. Better than most color productions.

She is the best Tosca - she acted with her voice,
-
Renata was a grand, classy Tosca but she neglected the Italian fire and passion. Tosca killed Scarpia brutally becuse he threatened the life of her lover. She would have killed anyone else who stood in her way. She loved Mario more than she loved God, which is why she didn't care that she committed a murder (punishable by Hell for Catholics). Callas does it the right way - more intensity and passion.

Quite awfull Spoletta.

@ElisabettaVS Spoletta comes out of Dickens, very English.

I thank God that He (or She) created a voice of pure gold, with the ability to make magical and beautiful things out of every line. The richness, the emotion, the taste and the grandeur of Tebaldi is incomparable. Without running around the stage, she rivets us to every utterance she makes. Thank you so much.

I really don't like Spoletta in this production. His voice, sounds so strange and the interpretation... well. I don't think thats good... but that's just my opinion...
