As far as I can see, Courtney did a pretty ordinery act at the hairpin. He was (legally) blocking, which is not very sporting. I would have put him off at the next corner too.

It's a corner you have to turn, if you go wide you're in the shit. Courtney stuffed the previous corner and should have yielded.

these cars run about 620 hp and they weigh a bit over 3,000 lbs.

i was sitting right on the corner, where they smashed and no way was that courtney's fault!
lowdnes turned to sharp and smashed straight into the front of courtney's car ! he cut straight in front of him and courtney wasn't expecting it. lowndes is an idiot, he tried to overtake him on a corner.
that is true though, james courtney drives widly. great driver he is.

its the same type of incident that ambrose and murph had on the mountain in 05.

I have to say it was James Courtney's Fault. Craig was far enough up, and far enough up for James to notice he was there.
As Roland said, "It come's for a time for the slower guy to yeild". Courtney was also blocking going down the strait. Craig was on the racing line. Some times James drives like you would in a bumper car. :S

This was an awful mess. You have to feel sorry for Frosty, totally innocent. Whether it was Courtney or Lowndes fault will be debated for ages, let's just hope it doesn't happen again. How cool and collected is Lowndes after a smash like that, great sportsmanship on his behalf.
