american exeptionalism? didnt the Nazis have something similar, some aryan race crap or something?, this idea is dangerous, history has shown us the result is always the same when one group of people start thinking their "better" then everyone else
@diskpanic No I was not talking about my country. I just thought it was absurd to say such a thing. The 100000 dead civilian Iraqis should be thankful. The civilians in the Vietnam war? And so on... As for the question. I live in sweden and we have not gone to war in 200 years. I am not sure what you mean by meddling (ofcourse we are not perfect). But we do not kill millions of civilians and call ourselves "exceptionally great" and ask people to thank us for it.
Which country is it? Additionally, in the past 20 years, have there been any events that have drawn Americans into your country's politics? Oh, say, like terrorism, economic conflict, or political confrontations? Has your country been a polite and unassuming neighbor, not meddling in the affairs of other countries? Or are you just being hypocritical? What nation on this Earth doesn't mess with other countries, for heaven's sake?
@Zetioun4 I'm guessing America either A.) has defeated you country at some point in some sort of fashion, or B.) has come to your country's aid in one form or another, but like an ungrateful and spoiled child you want to find all of its faults instead of saying "thank you," and going on your way.
Both of the arguments are rather grey. There seems to be two choices in this interview which are almost the same. 1. America is exceptional, but it has made many mistakes throughout history, or 2. America is just another nation, but it has done great things throuhout history.
Educated Americans are not idiots. We are all aware of there was an eastern front and that we made a deal with the devil at Yalta to defeat Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan. Let's not pretend that Britain, and the Soviet Union would have do anything other than survive had it not been for American aid.

Nope. In most countries, the people don't have a choice at all who they have in charge and are stuck with the idiot in charge for decades.

@prosvjeta
Do you think corporations are allowed to exist as freely in China or Russia as they are in the USA?
