Getaun64 you really said it all and explained it perfectly. Neither Robert nor Anna were ready to work through everything and reunite until they finally did. I agree in '87 he was mourning Holly and I really think Anna respected that. Duke was necessary for Anna to progress. She said herself "he filled a void". All along R/A were slowly building back what had been destroyed.

Where are all these interviews? ? The only thing I ever read was they both were happy with the storyline. Whatever it doesn't matter. Time has shown Robert and Anna were a fan favorite and a GH legacy.

@mssimplyprecious actually i don't check my post as often as you do and of course duke anna fans will agree with u ,but i don't need anyone else to back me up, it's just my opinion. they killed duke off anyway,guess robert was more valuble,dosent matter if they know the characters,it's whats in the script that matters. the script overide what the potrayers truly feel. dosent really matter about my slow feed back,it didn't stop u from responding. ,i am sure we'll debate again in the future.

THE FACT IS: THE PORTRAYERS KNOW THEIR CHARACTERS BETTERS THAN ANYONE AND THEY DON'T EVEN SEE WHAT YOU SEE.THEY STATED THE CHARACTERS ALWAYS LOVED EACH OTHER BUT WAS NOT IN LOVE WITH ONE ANOTHER AND THEY DIDN'T AGREE THAT THIS NEW REFOUND LOVE THAT RESURFACED IN '91.SO THERE.

@mssimplyprecious also your'e facts mean nothing. any hot blooded woman would have been attracted to duke, anna hadn't had another man for 7 yrs ,duhhh, and because duke was chosen doesent mean her love was less for robert. but you see the script overules our input. and your point is

@mssimplyprecious a third party normally is the best observer of any given situation,sometimes love is blind,being that the characters were not suppose to be in love when duke was around, it was just written later that the characters were still in love all the time. i guess so we can understand a bit better as to why the relationship was rushed ,with that being said, they never stoped loving each other. they characters would never marry so quickley unless they were in luv all the time.

Anna was hooked the first time she locked eyes with Duke!!! They were indeed soulmates!!

@getaun64 Ummm. Robert didn't want Anna back. In 1986, he was MARRIED to the woman he called the Love of his Life, Holly. In 1987, he was mourning his love. He wasn't interested in Anna in that way. He said he was trying to protect what little family he had left. Anna loved Duke. Robert was a just a friend/co-parent.
