A quickie, "work in progress" version of the beautiful "Blues for Herb" that the wonderful and sorely missed Emily Remler wrote... It comes with a very bluesy impro. It's played on my new shiny Goldtop. The pickup I use here, you've guessed, is the neck P77...

  • Well, its very much OK for hard rock and those type of sounds. But for metal, it lacks output level and precision, since the P90 pickup is a beefy single coil but single coil anyway...

  • True, though the P90 *is* popular for some reason with punk rockers. Probably because of the snarl they can have.

  • Nice to see a real Goldtop being used to play jazz/blues (what Les Paul designed it for!)
