Is it possible that the creator of Atari's Tempest got the concept behind the game from watching Kick Me? Both have a resemblance or similarity to each other.
@sygo7g I would worship you as a deity, flagellating myself in your honor, and name all my sons & daughters in your honor if you would find it in your heart to share that transfer with me : D
I don't know why, but I have a very very strong fondness for that short. I grew up watching it whenever I could catch it. But because of its rarity my appreciation for it has grown.
OH MY GOD! I can NOT believe I found this! This was one of my favorite things to watch growing up as well! I HAVE the whole tape on Beta at home.....no Beta Machine though. :(
I now have a decent copy of this film in particular (it's usual English title is "Cat's Cradle" anyway). Some of the shorts that were in these festival have been released in a few other formats over the years, though not all of them are currently available today.
This is my favorite short from the film. I used to own a copy of it on VHS but it has long since disappeared. Thanks for putting these and the other bits up. I've missed seeing them.

@sygo7g No problem. I don't wish to impose. But once you have the film converted, should you decide to put it up on YouTube, keep me posted :)

Please, someone - anyone - post Robert Swarthe's "Kick Me." I believe it is on this collection of animations.
It would be immediately recognizable, as it is a stick figure (legs mostly) running away from a one-eyed spider.

Watch it on the National Film Board of Canada Website... it looks really nice there

This is Paul Driessen a Dutch animator, this is from the mid 70s, probably from his time with the NFBC.
