This is a fragment of a 35mm reel that I found on a fleemarket.

This film is coloured in Pathé color. This was a semi-mechanical colouring proces, invented by Pathé-frères in 1905.In this proces a pantograph was used to cut out stencils in a film. These stencil films were placed in a coloring machine on top of the black and white print. In the machine the film was tinted in any one of six standard colors.

  • You found this at a FLEAMARKET? When was this, 1955?

  • the fragility of life, the passage of time: this fragment of film and the Chopin say it all.

  • I really enjoy it and the last scene especially with the house and brief water fall.

  • Nice but almost 'lifeless' presentation except the moving vintage car in the first scene. Anyone passing the popcorn ?

  • Really beautiful! All I ever find are old 8mm nudie flicks from the 40's.

  • absolutely beautiful, thanks for sharing UC, keep going to the flea markets

  • You know, this almost looks like moving paintings.. astounding..

  • z którego roku

  • I agree! It really is!! What an amazing find,UnknownCinema!!
