Frédéric Kanouté (born September 2, 1977 in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon) is a French born Malian footballer, who plays for Sevilla in the Spanish league. On February 2, 2008, Kanouté was named the 2007 African Footballer of the Year and is the first foreign-born player to win it.[1]
