Afghanistan invasion: real motives

Taliban attacks on the Afghan population and their 7th century interpretation of the Koran were happily overlooked by America when they were negotiating with the Taliban over US plans to build an oil pipeline from Iran and the Caucasus through Afghanistan. But when they failed to reach an agreement on the price of the pipeline, suddenly the US and its partners from Europe became apparently "concerned" about religious fundamentalism, the plight of women and the drugs trade that had previously been acceptable when they thought that the pipeline price would be all right. Afghanistan also happens to be on a strategically useful spot, on or near the borders with several countries, Russia, China and Pakistan and also near India. The leaders of America and its European partners have pretended to be helping out "poor wee Afghanistan" with all its problems, but in fact the real motive for the invasion of Afghanistan has not been to crush the drugs trade; on the contrary, with the installation of rich US puppet Karzai, a US citizen who has lived for 20 years in California who has filled his Afghan government with drug dealers and let corrupt gangsters and warlords rule over various territories, the real motive for the invasion of Afghanistan was a combination of its strategic position in the world and its position on the route of a planned oil pipeline. Afghanistan is a land that is also extremely rich in minerals and since the western powers-that-be laid eyes on Russian maps of the mineral resources of Afghanistan they couldn't wait to get their hands on the land.
