Dr. Ben Bobrow shares some of his thoughts about system and community awareness of sudden cardiac arrest. This segment of the Day 3 Finale Video Episode was recorded LIVE from EMS World Expo 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation sponsored ProMed Podcast Studio.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the biggest public health failures affecting the U.S. right now according to some experts. It requires a system-wide approach to recognition and treatment starting with community based CPR training, Emergency Medical Services system improvements, individual EMT and paramedic code management training, and close integration with hospital based cardiac care services.
