Cartoon commercial where a man tries to kill a small vw beetle in different ways. Of course, in the end, the beetle proves to be indestructable.

From the DVD 'Legend on wheels'. Wanna have this DVD packed with 2 hours of high quality digitally remastered old vw commercials? The DVD really brings you back to the '60s and '70s. Send an email to: beetlejuice150@hotmail.com

  • I've also been looking for this for years. I don't remember it being animated though. I think there's another ad out there that ends with the phrase "You just can't kill the bug". I could be wrong though.

  • @tsjrlover You're right! Some ads were with english voice for the american market, and german for the german market. This was before the american advertisement agency Doyle Dane Bernbach was involved.

Bur for your info: I just adjusted the subtitles there! Your translation is better! "De Käfer ist nicht um zu bringen" really means "you just can't kill the bug". I added subtitles only a month ago. I hope you like it, despite some errors.

  • I love the Beetle laughing at the end...

  • well I guess weather and time could kill one, lol, at least with rust, hahaa. But so true that if you treat them right, they'll last.

  • @beetlejuice150 Thanks so much for responding. I really love this ad. Most of the ads from yesteryear (like almost everything else on tv these days) is so much more classy and fun to watch. Ah for the old days to come back again. Oh well. lol.
