I started playing this by accident (G-D-C-D-G) but, after listening to the original for the first time in a while, I discovered that it was in a different key (F-C-Bb-C-F). However, I didn't think those chords sounded as good as the first set (on £18-worth of plywood and fishing line) so I reverted. The correct chords sound better picked but the wrong chords sound better strummed.
I recorded a couple of version and this is the most vigourous (I wondered if it was a bit too frenetic), and I can't say that I'm particularly happy with the vocals but here it is anyway.
This is from another album that I bought new on vinyl back in 1986 (Graceland, obviously) - I wish I'd included it in the video like I did on Eye Know.
The Sun's getting pretty low in the sky these days and I had a real struggle keeping the uke in tune. You can also see the shadows of the microphones. If you listen, you can also hear the gale howling in the chimney.
I don't mind Chevy Chase. And you can, if you must, call me Al.
This is the first thing I've uploaded that hasn't been related to a UkuleleUnderground contest.
I have posted details of changes I have made to the setup of my u30 here: http://tinyurl.com/ncpuqb
That is bloody epic..
