  • A pity it doesn't actually show us the swarm being shaken into the hive. That's when we tend to have problems!

  • @BillynBertie would be impossible to show shaking,

I did not shake them in...

the branch was placed into the hive, after the bees settled I removed the branch and added the rest of the frames.

  • @TruthVeracity hello there..i would like to know about the population rate of your bees..and around your country,to make my question become simple..are they easy to find in your area/country nowdays compare to last 10 years?? or they still at the same rate??

    goodluck in beekeeping and life.

  • @YOUDAJJAL

I would say a much, much lower rate.

  • I am originally from Massachusetts, USA... late springs as well.

Started Beekeeping when we moved to Georgia, USA

  • nice swarm of bees..you sure handled them well..very well done......billy

  • You Sir are my hero. I would rather hang myself rather than stand that close to a swarm of bees. Even a 100 feet from something like that. It is unbelievable how someone can just cope with them with no protection whatsoever...

  • @BillynBertie to be honest there are easier ways.....put your brood box underneath and spray the bees with sugar syrup and with a branch you can brush the to layer into the hive......spray the next layer and repeat till they all fall into the box.... you cant really over spray them and they love the sugar nor fly too much

  • They are fanning in the front of the hive you put them in. Looks like you got the queen in there, too. Congrats!

  • i was a beekeeper for 20 yrs then i moved into town..now i am living in the country again i am getting a nuc shortly...living in Ireland we have a very late spring..billy
