Anniversary - Year One

This was a short video I did as an anniversary gift for my lovely girlfriend, Lynda. We celebrated one year together earlier this week - and I thought this was a fitting tribute, as we originally met online!

The photo used at the end was the first day that we met in person. :-)

It took me about 5 days to complete this - there is not one second of footage in the whole sequence: I used motion graphics to make the images (that I had found online) more dynamic.

Particle systems were used for the rain, snow and final logo, while a simple 2.5d bird was used for the flocks.

The camera was animated in After Effects CS4 (as were all the motion graphics) and the final video was edited in Premiere Pro CS4.

The soundtrack is totally original - and was composed by my good friend Danny Elliott, especially for the occasion.

The rain sequence was inspired by the EXCELLENT video by Alex Verlan but I tried to make it my own as much as possible, using Centre Point right here in London as the main building - although it cuts to France for the next shot...! (Couldn't resist "The Matrix"-style spin on the raindrop though!)

Needless to say, my girlfriend loved the whole thing!!
