IThe only place to get a John Deere now I think is at a John Deere dealership, I would get a ryobi over the John Deere, your paying extra for the John Deere name. You can get a Ryobi at home depot.

I put 2 cycle oil in the gas as supposed to but I also spray WD-40 into the tank directly. My engine seems to run smoother, cleaner, and stronger.
I use Ryobi 26.9cc WeedEater and have the hedge trimmer attachment. I never go full throttle, that is how you destroy any engine..JUST A TIP
I bought my (used once) Ryobi for 15 bucks. Was practically new.

@crazyjdkid uhh, no it wasnt, it was bought by mtd, and homelite was actually good way back when, until it was sold to mtd. MTD is an american company... bud

@crazyjdkid Stihl makes the best of everything! If you need something and Stihl makes it, buy it!

I really appreciate the help and the quick reply , there is a lot of garbage on the computer these days but your video is very helpfulI, I live in Brooklyn so my experience with these things is bad, I have gotten pretty good at using the trimmer sideways to edge so knowing you favor that method over the edger attachment is helping me decide not to purchase the attachment so you saved me money.

ya john deere is not as good as it was. For weedeaters STIHL is #1
What do you think of the edger attachment? I have never used anything more than the cheap 25cc machines (to me they are light)---when you say its weaker how does that affect your work--what am I missing?

@McBears1 I don't really use the edger attachment, it's easier to me to just turn the weedeater sideways and use the string like an edger. Sometimes the weeds in my backyard get pretty thick and the lower power weedeaters bog down in the thick weeds. It makes it take alot longer cause I have to move slower to keep from bogging it down too much, when it bogs down real bad it doesn't cut the weeds.

Homelite was owned by john deere until it was sold to an asian company

I guess that's why you can't buy John Deere weedeaters anymore.

I would get the ryobi, I've never really liked weedeater brand.
