The local news and weather channels claimed that the February 2nd 2011 storm was "The Storm of the Century" (2000-2011). In a 12 hour duration, some area's recieved between 15-30 CM of snow. The first time since 1993 Hamilton, Ontario was alerted with a blizzard warning. Heavy winds caused large drifts resulting with some area's accumulating 2 feet and others only a few CM's. The CP Hamilton subdivison is a challenging route for trains as they have to conquer the 2% mountain grade. In this video, Canadian Pacific 255 and 541 are seen passing through wintery seens. CP 255 was the second train of the day, it is seen causing it's own snow storm with fresh powder snow covering the rails. CP 541 was the third train of the day, it is seen hitting a small snow drift over the rails causing an explosion of snow. This is as Canadian as it gets, eh? LRF Video Productions

  • Excellent winter photo/vidoe graphy. I find there is a lot of preparation of my equipment before I go out in such winter conditions. I let the camera get real cold with the battery left in my parkas pocket. Just hate the though of freezing water ruining my equipment. After use its into a giant ziplock bag with silica gel packs when taking the camera back indoors. Just hate the thought of condensate forming inside the camera body as it warms up.

  • I live in Syracuse. Need i saw more about how much snow we get? haha

  • I live in Kansas City and we got 29.4"
