Copyright law's been distorted from its original intent (centred on the human creative artist's life) into welfare for an eternal corporation. The creator gets table scraps.

The big fines for downloading aren't because of damage to the artist, it's because of welfare not paid to the corps.

ie. Fractional reserve banking: a certain amount of funds are held, and loans (debt) are created from fictional funds. Ie. this is essentially counterfeiting money. A legal method of fraud leading to larceny.
