@rgun60 i know hundreds of amazing drummers who don't try to wow the audience by playing as fast as they can and using impossible phrasing. The goal of music is not always to impress the audience.. it's to make them feel something inside..

I love guys who say this guy has no "soul" in his playing. Could you explain that one for me? Is being a soulful drummer a matter of accenting certain drum taps? Holding off on others? I don't know a drummer alive who, when in the spotlight, doesnt try to wow the audience by playing as fast as he can and using impossible phrasing. Sounds to me like your pissed because this guy blew away your drum hero. I'm positive he could play any kind of music out there...and just as impressively.

@fastatlearninstuff I don't think the drumming itself is monotonous. It just sounds really odd because he's playing an electric kit, which can't sound as dynamic as an acoustic for various reasons. Check him out when he plays something on a real drum set, and you'll see that it's not that bad :)

Tom's drumming has always sounded a bit "soul-less" to me...
Impeccable technique never adequately compensates for lack of musicality.

Thomas on the other hand... amazing.
