I always liked Woolsey, she was a happy Pixie. I think Karolyi had to much power and totally denied her the right on this team.
Campi was a beautiful gymnast , but Sansy deserved this spot.

I never got the hype surrounding her. She crossed her legs when twisting, had bad extension, and was unremarkable.

@FLACSC74 Hmm not so sure, Bruce had better form, and was better on bars and vault. They were even on floor and beam.
-
she was 2nd AA at nationals that year. what was the reason they used 2 drop her from the team? especially on UB, their weakest event at 91 WCs, she could've challenged for the podium.

Agree in the sense that Grivich had no business being on that team. Sandy was better on all events especially bars and floor. Grivich was superior on beam but horrendous on bars.

I loved Woolsey also, but I would have said Campi was a better performer. Her compulsories were far supieror to Sandy's and her beam was light years better. However, Sandy was better on floor, vault and they were about equal on bars. It;s hard to say if she deserved the spot because she retired at the end of 1991. The problem with Sandy was that she didnt have very good form on beam or vault, She also tended to look a little sluggish on the compulsories, She deserved the spot over Grivich!

if Woolsey was healthy in 92 she would of been a better choice than Bruce for Barcelona
