The Girls are laughing because they can see that Del Boy is anything but what he is assuming to be. The educated can spot the uneducated a mile away. They think they come from a different plane. Well they both do really.

the joke on popeye is wonderful, what's even better is what he asks to the bartender : bojoleau noveaux (sorry if misspelled i am not french!) which is a "new" wine, meaning just made...

... then he asks an older date but there can't be and, according to me, THAT'S what makes the 2 girls at the bar laugh.

del's "fall through the bar" isnt the funniest moment in ofah. its definitely one of the most memorable but not the best. ofah has so many clever and inventive jokes that the bar fall doesnt really feature
