Twilight Princess: Lake Hylia Timesaver (for single segment speed run)

This could be used in a 100% run as well. It saves around 15 seconds. You'd skip selling bombs to Barnes and buying water bombs.

If you skip selling bombs to Barnes and buying water bombs then you only have 485 rupees (the normal route you'd have 494 after buying water bombs). This is easily remedied by grabbing 9 rupees in the grass during the Telma escort, which won't cost a second of time since Telma's carriage goes slow.

Get the ant by the tree in Kakariko graveyard, LJA onto the ledge, and swim out of bounds behind the rock to enter Lake Hylia. Then clip out of bounds to Lakebed, open water bomb chest in first room. This gives you 10 water bombs. With the other route (buying water bombs from Barnes), you'd have 13 water bombs at this point. Having 10 still works out though.

@ghostlink2027 Actually, I'm surprised it took this long to be found. With the correct angle it is easy. It was discovered years ago that you could clip through at the front entrance of lakebed on Wii, but not GCN. All anyone had to do on GCN was swim a bit to the left, and clip through where the wall and pillar meet.

Also, I just found that you can just swim into the wall upwards into the connection point for the pillar so you can clip through. It's not too hard to do, and it would be faster than dropping all the way down and lining yourself up.

@Surreal3650 I did that too before I made the video. The problem was that I couldn't do it consistently. I was mainly trying to find something that would work every time for a single segment speed run and trying to do that clip without lining yourself up with iron boots on seemed too risky. But yeah, not equipping iron boots and clipping straight through should be used in a 100% segmented run. I'm gonna work on getting the clip consistently without iron boots.

@mzxrules Haven't tested it yet. I thought about trying this when first entering lake hylia in lanayru twilight. Even though the water is more shallow during that part, I highly doubt you'd have enough air to make it. Be nice if it worked though to skip the rupee dive.

Logi I'm trying this but whenever I L target it zooms in closer to link and the camera zooms in closer in general when I go to the area, so there's no way for me to line it up like you. What's happening?

@brynnagiadrosich It is 30 seconds slower (including the time of grabbing the bug by the tree before LJAing to ledge). But you skip selling your bombs back to Barnes and buying water bombs, and that takes 45 seconds. So the time difference is 15 seconds. The clip to Lakebed might actually be faster (if you quickly optimize the angle) than blowing up the rock to Lakebed. If so, this should save a bit more than 15 seconds.
