Well here is a little video I put together that pays tribute to some of the trucking companies that are no longer with us. Hopefully I got the dates and information correct (you never know with these things). Feel free to comment, however please note I will not be responding to comments nor do I have any additional information about the pictures. Hopefully this brings back good memories for some of you truckers out there, and obviously I hope you enjoy the video. DO TO COPYRIGHT ISSUES I AM UNABLE TO PLAY THE MUSIC THAT I HAD INTENDED TO GO WITH THIS VIDEO.

  • @ziggster59 NAFTA was and is wrong.

  • Thanks for posting. I had over 25 years with ANR/ ASSOCIATED TRUCK LINES.

It was Jimmy Carter in 1980 before he left office that deregulated trucking. Putting thousands of Teamsters out of work.

  • If I wasnt driving I dont know what Id be doing. I work for UPS Freight (formerly Overnite Transportation). Its been almost 6 years since UPS bought us and still over half our equipment is Overnite! Thanks for uploading this.

  • I worked for Preston Trucking for 13 years as a mechanic , Red star for 8 months , still in the field but moved to a leasing company ... Been there 12 years . Seen many of our major customers fall as well , it's sad :-(

  • i used to drive for garrett and yellow

  • @kdrapertrucker Reagan was not all there. He read from a prepared script. He did not establish US policy. Gerorge Schultz the Sec of state did. Schultz was the former head of Bechtel Corp, Reagan pushed for an unneeded 600 ship Navy which Bechtel built and now it sits unused and incomplete in San Francisco that will cost more to cut it up than it's worth. Reagan was a fake and a puppet of big business and now we have an unregulated banks problem that has broke the country.

  • @da19570 yes, both of them are full of democrats. Would be great to see a consevative, constitution loving person elected to office in this country, but all we get are fakes like ron (Big pork spender) paul.

  • @highway445 yes, damn shame the Union thugs don't beat the shit out of Independent truckers so that the union has a lock on freight. Competition is what did these companies in, as it should, if you refuse to compete, you go the way of the DODo.

  • @Gorilla196094 yep, do half the work, get ten times the pay & a company killing retirement package. use the union thugs to keep the competition from coming in. Corrupt, corrupt, corrupt.

  • @raginroadrunner Reagan was a great president, he saved this country. if only he could have taken us the whole way forward we wouldn't have these economic problems today.

  • @179178 well if you remember the whole Arrow situation the owners were crooks who had swindled their owner-operators on their truck lease-purchase. you had people who had paid off their trucks getting repo notices because Arrow had pocketed the money or refinanced the trucks without the owners knowlege.
