Ever since the 1970s, spoonbending (and the bending of other cutlery, metal bars, and the like) has been held up as physical evidence for telekinesis, a form of PSI in which thoughts alone can allegedly be employed to alter the physical environment. In this episode, Michael Shermer attends a seminar on spoonbending and discovers the power of group think to actually bend metal!

Don't pay attention to the skeptics. Stay away from the skeptics. It takes BELIEF and FAITH in what you are doing in order to perform PK. If there is any doubt in your mind you will never do it. SKEPTICS will come against your faith and instill doubt into your mind which will take away your faith. In other words, do not cast your pearls before the swine. When you pray go into your closet and not be seen by others. Practice spoon bending alone and just prove it to yourself.

its just gallium infused with the metal, with just the right amount it makes it possible to bend them without making them crumble almost like paper (NurdRage)

It is the mind that is bent.

uhm, people debunk very specific claims...the problem with religion is that it is based on either unprovable/untestable claims or they can't provide any evidence to support their claims. And you could've chosen a better example for "miracles" than the ridiculous Fatima sungazing. I can make people see snakes in trees, even if there are none...its quite simple actually and the more people there are the simpler it gets...hallucination doesn't mean you're crazy.

For those interested... Fatima Portugal 1917, Three shepherd children said they saw some saint's apparitions. Tens of thousands of people stare at the sun for 10 mins then say the sun is dancing around the sky or getting larger in the sky. Reports vary, but these types of visual effects are expected when staring at the sun..

No critically thinking skeptic is trying to disprove God or the supernatural, we're only trying to find the real ones (if there are any) and expose the charlatans.

THIS is why I get called a f'ing MORON for believing in God, angels, miracles etc, because of people saying that you can bend spoons with your mind, it's because of Joseph Smith conning people with lies about miracles so he could screw all their wives...It makes me truly angry that when somebody wants to "disprove the supernatural" in general, they pick the absolute stupidest theories/religions, people to expose. Yet when 70,000 people see a miracle at Fatima, it's a "mass hallucination".
