the real turks are originally from the central plains and grasslands of china and mongolia area. that's why original turks, such as buryats, kyrgyz, salars, yakuts have mongolian-chinese faces.

why do so many turks have some caucasian appearance? because many turks migrated west and invaded indo european territory such as the sogdians and tocharians, and became mixed. later more mixing came as more turks invaded anatolia and persia, these turks became less chinese lookin

Yes,original turkic were mongoloid,but that has changed when they invaded and subjugated the indo-european iranics of central asia,and intermarried to an extend.Being mixed race doesn't mean you have to look mongoloid.One of my mongolian cousin is mongolian mixed with american(french decent) but does she look mongoloid? heck,not really,she looks way more like an uzbek,turkmens type than a kazakhs type.All uyghurs are mixed of turkic-and ancient torcharians,this is why they can look both ways.
