@leaualorin Also make sure that your high voltage wire is very well seperated away from anything else. I was getting a discharge through my glass table from high voltage positive to ground. I would hold my high voltage wire about 1mm from the glass and a tiny spark it would jump from the wire to my glass table! Make sure your cables have lots of insulation and are seperated away from each other by at least 1cm and away from other items that could conduct and draw away the current

@leaualorin Hi there. If you are making an ion generator, there would usually be no spark. I have never tried turning the lights off myself to see any discharge on the tip of the wire, but I'm sure there probably was.
It could be just the placement of the pins in relation to ground as to why it is only discharging on one pin. if you had the ground evenly spaced away from the high voltage pins, you may see an even charge on each pin.

@leaualorin Sounds good. The capacitors will beoperating at DC once you connect up the diodes. I'll be interested to see how you go!

@leaualorin Hi, Yes 10 stages should be plenty if you are runing the thing at 400V AC at the input. You can always experiment with the number of stages. Just use caution when playing with this sort of thing, in my view these projects could easily be deadly. This video is only running off a 230V input and seems to be jumping about a 3mm gap anyway!
