New family-medicine micropractice open in Eugene, Oregon (8/09). I keep my operating costs low so I can give my patients the time and attention they deserve. I am a doctor and nurse and business manager rolled into one. Paperless office; charts and faxes and voicemails and appointment scheduling and billing are all online. My patients have my cell number and they know they can call any time. My goal is to have only as many patients as I can fit into my back yard for a really excellent party (600 - it's a big yard). Note: I don't actually lisp - the camera did that. Also, the room is not pink - it is honey-colored (manuka). The drawers are full of sharp objects and examination implements you don't really want to see. In addition to the many other wonderful therapists, my office building, a former monastery, also houses our local art theater, the Bijou. Does that rock, or what?!
