my opinion the 2001 were the best sounding cummins i mean now you can barley tell if the truck is diesel they made them so quiet its so lame

@Jackstock500 man how can you say vp44s sounded better than 12 valves? I guess its kinda the intermediate between real diesel sound and the new ones. But still, good old 12 valves have the classic sound to them

@54mudderboy yeah. thats what i said. 2002 was the last year for the second gen. 2002 the 1500 had the new body style and 2003 they gave the cummins the new body style and with cr injection

@RM250D8rzr 2002 was the last year. and the CR cummins engines can be just as loud and sound just as good with a 2 gen manifold swap or twin turbos.the 03 - 07 wernt to quite, unless urs is a canifornia model there even more quiet
