Don Juan - Reaffirmations From the World Around Us

When Castaneda sought out Don Juan he was hoping to learn about plants such as peyote. But these drugs have to be approached with an elementary level of knowledge of such matters as assuming responsibility for one's actions and acquiring humility by overcoming self importance. Don Juan set out to teach him and the lessons form the first part of Carlos Castaneda's third book: 'Journey to Ixtlan', Bodley Head, 1973.

were any of those books real ? Did it really happen ? Was It true ? I have 6 books of Carlos Castaneda...

@theshaggyshow I think Castaneda made a genuine anthropological investigation of the culture and system of ideas of Don Juan because he describes aspects of human psychology that I recognise. It is just that the phrases he uses are often difficult to understand. For example 'unbending intent'. My own unbending intent is described in plain English in my book: More than a Puff of Smoke'.
