I have an old fan that is really heavy from about the year 1906 it doesnt work I bought it for a couple bucks it prolly needs cleaned I dont know but I dont know anything about tryin to fix it oin my own wish there was someone here to help me ,,,I love old antique things,,,I bough another fan I paid 5 dallers for its a single blade fan about 1920 IT WORKS I thought it was broken,,but its not,,it has one blade,,

@HistoricHomesDR most of the models had the stator assembly pressed into the housing. so you will need a special puller to get it out without damaging the motor, without such tool your pretty much on your own to devise a way to do it. i modified a gear puller to pull the stator out of the fan
my dad did it and it never worked again

@amysel100 I wouldent you risk damaging the windings. Use a soft brush.

I recently bought the same fan in chocago and i cant seem to remove the blades. i removed the little screw on the side of the blade and it still wont come off . HELP

@Brian17919 spray it with wd40 and wait a day or so. then gently try and work it free. you might have to very carefully pry them off
