I thank you for this video. I have a blog and am trying to explain to actors that are in your position why they should be informed. I try to tell them how this very contract will affect them, because they will be in SAG...and working under it, should it ratified.
I will put this on my blog, called ----Hollywood Actor Prep Blog-----
I hope you get lots of views.
You're adorable in this.

Gelder was being silly and funny. You, on the other hand, are just being an asshole. Shouldn't you be pounding the pavement trying to find asshole roles instead of attacking hard working people?
I do agree with you. Nobodies do indeed watch YouTube videos. They also post caustic, pointless comments.

Wow, I had no idea so many people got so testy about this video...I went looking for it and found 1) some clips of excellent acting work and 2) some mindless flaming as well as 3) some great people leaping to your defense. Also I think it won't be long until you have not only a SAG card, but mainstream awards up the ass, because you are a serious talent. Every time I see something new (Frank, which I just saw the trailer for) I'm blown away.

Emery is easily more involved in "the business" than you will ever hope to be. He was not being defensive, since your comments weren't directed towards him, but to me.
A prick? Oh, yeah, he can be a prick. Don't test him.
And there's really no virtue in being an asshole.
This issue resolved itself with SAG's "yes" vote a week or so ago - probably best to let this go, don't you think?

@ emeryemery hmmm... I am not an 'actor.' Don't know what gave you the impression that I am. Maybe that I know more about the business than you apparently? Being an asshole is a virtue. Being a defensive prick, like yourself, is unbecoming and embarrassing.

Not trying to be defensive about this critique, but I have gotten good reviews for my past work in independent films. This was meant as a fun way to get across a serious idea.
I'm not saying I don't need more work - we can all benefit from continued studies and education. But I wasn't really bringing my "Oscar-worthy" chops to this issue.
Jesus. Leave the guy alone. He's trying to help a good cause-one that helps us ALL have union protections and a future. And I'll bet making his video will help him more than anything else he's done so far. Vote NO folks. It's your whole career and future on the line here, and most of us don't even know it. Vote NO to protect yourself and all the rest of us. You have nothing to lose, and your future to gain.

*sigh* instead of making mindless youtube videos that nobody watches, you should be out pounding the pavement, auditioning and taking classes so you can make connections. You rant at the end, although tongue in cheek (I hope), basically sums up the attitude that every actor in your position had. Bitter jealousy. Shameful...

Thanks for the career advice. Made this on a Sunday, so no opportunities to audition or make connections were squandered.
I hardly think it's a mindless process to write, shoot, edit & upload a video with a message regarding a contract I can't vote on that will potentially affect my future earnings. Seems like the opposite.
And, if you really have to question if the rant is real, or you think those are my true feelings...well, best of luck to you.
Thanks for watching - you're not a nobody!
