Tour of Tel Rumeida, Hebron with Young People

From August to October 2009 two international volunteers gave English
classes in Tel Rumeida Community House to a group of young people. As
part of these classes, we decided, with the young people, to make a

The entire Jewish community of Hebron was decimated almost a century ago now by Muslims. When the city was taken back from Jordan Muslims expected to be slaughtered in vengeance because that is exactly how they would have behaved. Not one Muslim was even touched. All that the Jews asked for is to have their old quarters back. How did Muslims respond? With snipers killing babies, with firebombs, lynch mobs and random stabbings. They are inconvenienced with searches because they seek Jewish blood.

Why can't the children play in the open field? I enjoyed seeing the human side of the Gaza occupation. I hope we can see peace and quality of life for these people and their children soon. Inshah Allah
