@NeoFaye Because it's a strategy, if they're in a defensive position just blocking, they'll probably not react fast enough to tech a throw. And in daigo's case, he was rushing Yun, pressuring him into blocking, so instead of wasting time, or risking taking a counter poke, he opted to throw :P And in other cases a throw is sometimes better or faster to pull off after a whiffed attack.

That last round in China was funny. Daigo is kicking ass, almost kills the guy with a perfect too, & the crowd is hardly excited. He gets hit a bit, & Daigo pulls a painful reversal FTW, yet the crowd cheered louder just b/c Daigo lost his perfect. Jerks.
