The video is about personal grief as a soldier says goodbye to his sweetheart before going to war, never to return. "We thought Poppy Day would be the right time to launch the video and so help create more awareness of the bravery of the armed forces,"
The song lyrics are by Joel Rockman, a published songwriter who has achieved significant airplay. The music was composed by Tally Koren and is reminiscent of a piece by the English composer Elgar, mixed with Middle Eastern musical influences. The video was directed by Tally Koren herself who had a clear vision of how to turn this emotional song into video. It was a low budget video and was supported by a team of volunteers who all believed in the message of the song.
Actor Dan McSherry was selected to play the soldier. Dan recently completed a nationwide tour as Hamlet for Troika and starred in 'Intimate Strangers' and 'Jimmy' for Channel 20/20 Films.
The video DOP Boyd Skinner worked in the last video of Dawn Penn and on Ravi Kumar's feature film, 'Bhopal, A prayer for Rain'. Director Michael Onder and producer Jozef Amado from Flugah Film helped Tally put things together. The video was edited Stephen King who works in Theatre production Warhorse as Deputy Stage Manager but gave a year of his life to the project.
