  • I saw them in Edinburgh on the Love of Life tour (and childre of God&Soundtracks for the Blind tours). Saw/spoke to him at one of his accoustic concerts in Vienna. His songs still sound wonderful with just him and his guitar. If you haven´t already, check out his Angels of Light albums. He just gets better lyrically with age.I really love "Everything is good here" LP.Get it on young gods website-signed too:-)and his The Consumer book

  • i would loved to have heard this live, or actually gone to one of their shows, love the white light album, another brilliant release from a decade which sadley i was too little to give a shit about

  • ACK!! Poor Bun....:(

  • @spuffchops70 No not on the current reissue, it's on the 1990 one, with the original full black cover. The original vinyl of the EPs sold on YG for a while I think. Yeah from recent interviews he seems much more friendly than the Mr Gira of the early 80s!

  • @Putyourknifinme He actually seems like quite a self effacing and affable kind of fellow. He sent me a personal e mail reply from the Young God site when I made a casual enquiry as to whether any copies of Thor Harris' illustrated book were still available. So is the very first SWANS EP available on the current reissue of 'Filth', which also includes 'Body to Body, Job to Job'?

  • Super, the song also is here. I'm thrilled. Thanks for the upload. Whoa what's coming because of memories of high ..

  • Wish I'd bough this album when it was still available. Bollocks! I bet Gira finds that funny though.

  • i saw the cod tour and they wer all done after two songs since they blowed the pa system here in philly at some trendy nightclub......lol.....i saw them a year later at city gardens with living color doing the burning world lp before it camre out and it was intense.....and once again i saw them on the great annihlator tour playing extremely loud at some trendy gothic club -- great show with lotsa cigarrette smoke....i also saw angels of light while bumping and grinding with some beautiful girl.

  • believe me, if you were into Swans in the 90s, you were definitely in the extremely small minority

  • I just started talking about the Edinburgh show and he said how he loved the city.He hinted he was interested in resurrecting the Swans again (sadly probably without Jaroe).A friend saw him in New Yourk last week, she said it was advertised as Michael Gira sings NEW Angels of Light AND NEW Swans songs...I´m curiuos:-)I also have everything except the first EP too. The"official Swans"website also sells lots of live CD-Rs for $12each-some good stuff(I guess you´re aware of this) :-)

  • yeah i own all the angels albums, i was buying both swans and them at the same time, i now own pretty much everything apart form his book and the first swans EP (but i have that on the filth reissue), i guess its the only way of making up for being to young to ever see the swans. wow, you saw them on the COD tour? and spoke to the man? thats awesome, i myself wouldn't have a clue what to say!
