SHIMMERING

I think I just
saw the look
The one that
I've been waiting for

The one that once
just shimmered
Every now and again
Suddenly has a shine
much more
brighter than before

Seems that there
maybe a reason
Why the Earth
turns as it does

In a world full
of changing seasons
Tis' this our
time for love?

So beautiful
an experience
That I have just felt
My eyes are watering
But it's my heart
that now melts

Last night you would not
find me sleeping
Even though I
certainly was dreaming

It looks like I
have just found
somebody
worth keeping

So for now...
I will just
enjoy this feeling

For I've learned
from mistakes
That I've made
in the past

Before I'd fall asleep
I'd lay awake and ask...
Could this be the time
when something
great will last?

When I was young
I learned to walk
Only later did I learn
how to crawl

When I was younger
I learned to stand
Only later did I learn
how to fall

Yes, I finally put
a name to a face
And such a beautiful
face it was

I've finally had an
intelligent conversation
That not many lately
have risen above

I have finally found
a voice worth talking to
I've finally found s
omeone worth
walking with

I usually settle
for my second choice
just to make due
Yet this time
I was interested
without faking it

Her mystery is
in her illusion
As her sanity has
become my confusion

Is she really all
that she seems?
Or in reality is she
a collection
Some kind of
reverse projection
of all my
shattered dreams

Eyes of passion and
without loneliness
A heart of gold that
fights off bitterness

With such deep thoughts
I have mixed emotions
Have I really found love
and total devotion?

For once I saw the light
but it was so bright
That I ran away

That was a long time ago
Many years have passed
So many times I look back
And wished I hadn't strayed

Now tears again
they sting my eyes
Sitting here hoping
it's not a lie

That people
can change
And that all great books
can turn their page
