@curtisjones400 In total agreement with you...my growing up during my pre-teen yrs. on up...their music made me appreciate music as a whole, for that I was 1 of the members of h.s. Orchestra in Bklyn, NY...Beautiful music indeed!

Respond to this video... and there was about 7 other groups there. everyone performed and i f i remember correctly , i heard that they was a no show. Leaving the stadium , i suddenly heard Bad Luck and flew back in and to the front, and they showed up. Harold , Teddy, Sharon and the rest. The wait was worth it, but i could tell even , and being that close , that Harold was a hand full!!! Still a great talent , and may he RIP!

@renaissanceman165 Thank you for the post. This evening i was listening to them on my ipod and couldnt remember who sang lead on what songs. I always did get it confused but Teddy had a more aggressive and raw approach , where Harold was a bit more calm and smooth. Nevertheless at times they sound similar. This takes me way back! I saw them back in 1975 or so , whenever this album came out. It was at Shea Stadium in New York

@nphamus They are looking for a prince but they are not princesses themselves.

@schazz50 I'm one of the ones that have the utmost respect for women...but I feel nowadays that there are not a lot of them that actually deserve it?!

This is the jam for real!!!!

@Chicago10281 Harold Melvin on lead vocals. Harold sings lead on I Should Be Your Lover, and shares the lead with Teddy Pendergrass on Hope That We Can Be Together Soon, and You Know How To Make Me Feel So Good, as well as others. Ciao!!!

Aah, real R&B. Harold singing lead but Teddy Pendergrass was mainly the voice in the group...and you cannot deny their songs, especially when Ms. Sharon Paige came into the picture. What a classic. It's kewl to come to YT and not only hear classics but share them with other folks that can appreciate true R&B.
A lot of these guys were tightfisted SOB's. Count Basie never paid a nickel for one hotel room or meal for his band members. Mercer Ellington said his father never wanted him to succeed at ANYTHING. James Brown would toss away band members like used toilet tissue. Many band leaders were supremely talented musicians but absolute shits as human beings.
