  • I can´t watch the video because i am thinking to read the book so i just have a question, is better than the movie? i loved the movie , worth the reading?

  • @hakusho04 The movie wins in the end. The book is still good, but don't expect it to be much like the movie. The two are VERY different. Still worth a read, though.

  • angier: an-gea? more like an-geer.

  • Wolverine and Batman in a movie about magicians. I bet some people found that interesting.

  • @Book5204 I completely agree with all your reasons. Borden is more likable for me. In fact I actually liked him throughout the movie, even though he's not completely perfect. I liked Angier at the beginning, but later once he became more obsessed, I liked him less.

  • I missed this movie when it came out because it was around the same time as The Illusionist and two movies about Victorian-era stage magicians was more than I could handle and I much prefer Edward Norton and Paul Giamati over Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman. I may now have to revisit this.

  • I wondered if that was #3 doing the book review when I saw ET... This is fun!

I think this is a first, but I completely disagree with you on who is more likable in the movie. I like Borden way more than Angier. I don't like the showiness of Angier, or his ambitious, power hungry nature, I'm just not drawn to him. I like how Borden is mysterious, you have to work to figure him out. It always felt like he was working for a higher purpose vs Angier's cold cut power/revenge hunt.

  • "I can relate." Great line.

  • Gah, just remind me of how much I need to read the book, why doncha?

E.T. sounds so unhappy to be there. I mean, I'm really convinced that he's hating every second of his existence right there. Kudos.

  • This is so detailed. Love it. :)

I hadn't realised just how different the novel was from the book, in plot points and character as well as structure. Mention of unreliable narrators means I'm going to have to read the book in the very near future, even though I'm still not sure if I'll like it.

It's only on a second viewing of a BvM that I realise just how well chosen all the film clips are - looks very professional, and I hate to think how long it takes to edit it all together. Kudos.
