NOOMA 001 - Rain - Preview

Things don't always work out the way we want them to, or the way we think they will. Sometimes we don't even see it coming. We get hit with some form of pain out of nowhere leaving us feeling desperate and helpless. That's the way life is. Still, it makes us wonder how God can let these things happen to us. How God can just stand by and watch us suffer. Where is God when it really hurts? Maybe God is actually closer to us than we think. Maybe it's when we're in these situations, where everything seems to be falling apart, that God gets an opportunity to remind us of how much he really loves us.

with all respect, what you say sounds pretty formulaic and most of the times we cannot know what God is thinking, the Bible says His thoughts are higher than ours; so trying to figure out the reason why sometimes prayer is not answered, could be a waste of time.

I don't believe parents wouldn't give a child's request just because they wanna see the hunger or how bad their children want that...

God is real but when you pray and he doesn't answer, it is because he wants to see the hunger in you that you really want Him in your life!

i think some people are being a little too critical of Rob Bell because this video isn't him trying to act out God, its just the closest example of God's fatherly love that we have on earth. The first time I watched this vid it made me rededicate my life to Jesus so I'll always respect him for what he does. And by the way, what mowriter said was really cool :)
