Pre-season 1993, Boro play Sunderland at Ayresome Park in Gary Hamiltons testimonial game. Sunderland win 2-1 with goals from Lee Howey & Don Goodman with Paul Wilkinson replying for Boro.
There was a bit of chew near half time as some Sunderland fans tried to escape from the away end and claim amnesty in The Boro.
Luckily, The Police & some hi-vis jacket wearing gentlemen were on hand to sit on them until until they could be coaxed back into their enclosure with wooden football rattles and other things to remind themn of the early seventies.
